EHC is issuing a challenge to all Durham businesses to raise tonnes of food for the 2004 Durham Regional Police Food & Toy Drive.  

Last year EHC raised more than 2 tonnes of food - 5244 pounds to be exact, doubling the amount raised in 2002. "When the Durham Regional Police Food Drive volunteer called me asking if we'd put a donation box in our lunch room, I thought it was a great opportunity to get our employees involved and as an incentive, make it an Intercompany departmental competition" said Yolanda Sabadin, EHC Food Drive Coordinator.

Now that this annual event is a huge success with EHC employees, the company's Vice President, Jeno Eppel would like to extend a challenge to other Durham Region companies "I would personally like to challenge other local companies to beat our average of 65 pounds of food per employee". The company that raises the most amount of food (on average per employee) will be awarded a trophy courtesy of EHC. EHC will be "weighing in" at 2pm on Thursday, December 9.
